What The Series Is About

Following the journey of an artist

Our Project & Vision

Most artist documentaries look back from the safety of success. But we are starting much earlier! RIBAL – Two Worlds, One Artist asks a harder, more urgent question:

What does it take to establish yourself as an artist?

Since 2020, the camera has followed painter and classical musician Ribal Molaeb through the conflicts and pressures that define an emerging career: navigating two art forms, two cultures, and two different working worlds. The series tracks the constant negotiation between opportunity and doubt.

We met with art collectors, patrons, gallerists, critics, politicians, musicians, enthusiasts and interviewed them in exclusive settings.

In this series, Ribal is being an example of study to answer the core question of the series: What does it take to establish yourself as an artist

And from that question, new questions appear – What defines success for an artist?

An artist being followed by the camera since his very early career Ribal makes the perfect case to observe.

The narrative focuses on the real work behind “becoming”: the struggle to position yourself in the art world, the financial and logistical demands of daily practice, the expectations shaped by a renowned father, and the internal battle between self-confidence and insecurity. Scenes move between the quiet intensity of the studio and the high-pressure urgency of the spotlight.

Through observation, intimate conversations, and selected archive from exhibitions and performances, each episode reveals the decisions, risks, and conflicts that shape an artistic identity.
